Have a Great Weekend

June 18th, 2015

We have put together the definitive summer getaway packing list and not a moment too soon. School is out, and there’s nothing better than packing up for the weekend for a mini-vaca. No matter what your jam is, camping or spa, we’ve got you covered with our 10 weekend getaway essentials.

• Panty by Post panties

No outfit is complete without the perfect pair of panties! Pack your favourite PBP’s for ultimate comfort and style. If it’s a romantic weekend with your lover, he (or she) will have extra time to appreciate your knickers, so pack accordingly.

• The perfect weekender bag

You’re going to need something to hold all your goodies and necessities, so take this simple Hershel duffle bag. Did you know they’re also a local Vancouver company? #supportlocal

• Vinyl bag

Trust me when I say a vinyl bag is a necessity for days on boat or at the lake. It’s perfect for keeping your phone and camera dry, while you frolic in the water sans expensive electronic goods. It’s also great to keep your wet suit separate from the rest of the carefully packed and purchased items in your bag! Check out the hot pink Wild Fox one we selected.

• Swimsuit

No summer get away is complete without the perfect bikini (or two). Pick one that enhances your curves, is comfy and cute! The ones we selected is from Asos and is perfect if you want to pull on a long flowing skirt as your coverup.

• Original roundie towel

The roundie towel is the most beautiful and original beach towel we’ve ever seen! It’s big enough for you and a friend and is such a great statement for days on the beach or on the festival scene.

• Little champagne bottles

No weekend getaway is complete without a few drinks (if you’re of legal drinking age of course!). We love these personal sized bottles of champagne; they’re easy to pack and are as adorable as they are delicious. You’ll have so much fun breaking those little babies out!

• Knee high gladiators

It’s no question that gladiators are back and we couldn’t be happier about it. A great pair of gladiators are tres chic and can take your look from day to night. We wear this look with a long skirt with a deep slip. Such a sexy surprise!

• Sundress

A pretty sundress is perfect for a getaway, there are so many cute ones on the market right now but we love ones that are white and lacey.

• Sun hat

A hat is a necessity when spending time in the sun! We love this neutral coloured fedora that will work with everything you packed for the weekend and take you into the fall.

• Shorts

Shorts are a summer wardrobe staple and a must have for any weekend getaway. We love high wasted pairs, especially vintage Levi’s.

Great list…would just replace the mini champagne bottles with single wines!

I love that Roundie towel! I’ve never heard of them before, where can I find them?

I’ll ask Carissa Carvalho, she’s our writer and researcher for this piece.

Great article, don’t know about the gladiator sandals in the daytime, don’t want weird tan lines lol

Good point but you should be slathered in sunscreen anyway (wink).

Definitely need an e-reader for the perfect weekend. This list is pretty solid though.

Yes, good suggestion. We’ll have to do another list:)

I would throw in some sunscreen and a refillable water bottle to counter-balance that champagne!
